Executive Sous Chef
Christine Espinal Rosa is the Executive Sous Chef of Union Square Hospitality Group’s (USHG) Porchlight in New York. Prior to that, Espinal Rosa served as Sous Chef at USHG’s celebrated North End Grill. During her time at North End Grill, Christine gained first-hand experience working with rooftop gardens, cooking on wood-burning grills, and mastering in-house charcuterie programs -- all of which inform her elevated meets playful approach at Porchlight. At Porchlight, Christine takes pride in building a tight-knit team with a penchant for Southern cuisine and memorable guest experiences.
Cooking for philanthropic organizations is a passion for Christine, who has worked with the Robin Hood Gala to raise funds to help poverty-stricken communities in New York City, as well as multiple Autumn Harvest dinners to raise money for No Kid Hungry. When not working, you can find Christine in the kitchen cooking with her husband, Jairo, binging something great on Netflix, or traveling the world through the lens of different cities’ rich culinary landscapes.
